Tasks
The candidate will be part of the team responsible for commissioning and operation of the soft X-ray beamline (MAXPEEM) which houses state-of-the art aberration corrected low energy electron microscope.The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and conducting practical work related to the operation of the beamline. As part of his/her tasks the candidate is also expected to help users to perform their experiments at the experimental end-station (SPELEEM microscope).
Qualifications
The successful candidate has a PhD or equivalent in Physics or a similar field of relevance for the MAXPEEM beamline. The candidate must have demonstrated experience with as many as possible of the following areas:
- Beamline optics and experimental equipment for soft X-ray beamlines
- Infrastructure of relevance for the MAXPEEM beamline
- Low Energy Electron Microscopy (LEEM)
- Programming skills
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of equipment build-up projects
- Ultrahigh vacuum systems
- Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM)
Good communication and teamplaying skills are mandatory as well as very good command of English both oral and written.
