Your role within the MAX IV Controls and IT group is to assure the delivery of the “data storage and management” by working with the group manager and team leaders to deliver the various components according to the vision. You will need to develop a deep understanding of this vision and be able to help decide the scope of the various work packages that take into account the impact and value for MAX IV researchers to get the most value from their data. While there are many simultaneous activities being worked on by the 5 Controls and IT teams, you will need to keep track and report on the "data management and storage" project status to all the stakeholders, including external organisations.

Responsibilities of the project manager
- Manage the “data storage and management” project at MAX IV according to specification submitted.
- Coordinate MAX IV KITS internal resources available for project activities.
- Define milestones, deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress.
- Regularly communicate all aspects of project management necessary to meet project goals to management.
- Evaluate and manage risks to minimize risk of project failure/non-completion.
- Develop a comprehensive plan to keep track and be able to report project progress.
- Create and maintain project documentation in accordance with updated goals.
- Develop and implement IT project management structure and tools at MAX IV.
- Work on engaging researchers who are committed to improve the data management of their data.
- Work on outreach to let external stakeholders be informed, with the help of the MAX IV communications group.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with knowledge of data management of scientific data within research and the ability to participate in and manage large projects management skills and several years of proven track record.
- Extensive experience working with a large and diverse team of professionals.
- Organisational skills including attention to details and multitasking.
- Previous experience of establishing a well-functioning project organisation.
- Ability to make and execute project-critical and timely decisions within given mandate.
- Communication skills, verbal and written.
- It is seen as a merit if you have experience working on multiple projects and have an appreciation of the agile development process.

As a person you are performance oriented, setting high goals for yourself and others but still aware that being successful in this role you will need to have a talent for leading and motivating others, creating commitment and participation so that the goals will be reached.
