SAM (Survey, Alignment and Mechanical stability) is part of the engineering groups at MAX IV. The team has four engineers. At MAX IV, the requirement in terms of alignment and stability tends to be high, and provide a challenge to achieve. The SAM team works with the machine and the beamlines in providing the necessary support for optimal results, in the field of survey, alignment and stability. We are now looking for two Summer workers.
Tasks
The Summer worker will be an assistant within the SAM team and participate in the 2020 summer shut down activities; survey of network in different parts of MAX IV machine using laser tracker, alignment and realignment of components in MAX IV machine and beamlines. The work requires focus, patience and attention to details. The tasks are hands-on and involve being able to work in tight space.
Qualifications
The applicant must have studied at least one year in an engineering degree. Practical experience of working with accelerators or equipment related to synchrotron light research is a merit. English speaking and understanding is required.
