The holder of the position should be competent and experienced enough to be able to carry out independent research in Economic History.
The holder will work within the project “Female Empowerment and Economic Growth: The Case of Sweden 1749-2016.” financed by the Swedish Research Council and led by Faustine Perrin.
Scholarly proficiency is the main requirement for employment.
To be qualified for the employment the applicant must hold a PhD in Economic History or related discipline (e.g. Economics, Sociology, Demography, Economic Geography, History). For appointment, the candidate must have demonstrated a high degree of research expertise as manifested in the quality of the PhD dissertation and publications.

The evaluation will take the experience, knowledge and other personal qualities like, accuracy, independence and collaborative skills, into consideration. The applicants’ ability to use their skills and experience to strengthen and supplement the existing team of researchers in the project will also be considered. Applicants with expertise in GIS tools and spatial econometric methods, historical-demographic methods and gender relations will be prioritised. Working knowledge in Swedish is desirable as the researcher will have to work with certain sources and documents written in Swedish.
