Your team
The Biological and Chemical support labs at MAX IV are central laboratory facilities for the support of synchrotron experiments carried out at various beamlines. You will work closely with the lab manager and the MAX IV experimental safety team to ensure high quality and safe daily operation of the labs.

MAX IV are looking for a highly motivated lab technician to complement our support lab team.

Your main work tasks will be
- Performing routine laboratory functions to support scientific experiments and investigations, including ensuring a clean, safe working environment

- Setting up, testing, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and apparatus such as balances, pipettes, pH meters and centrifuges

- Recording, analysing and writing reports, protocols and summaries on experiments

- Collecting and preparing samples and solutions and ensuring safe disposals of laboratory waste

- Provide user support upon request

- Operating and maintaining lab equipment such as gloveboxes

- Maintaining high quality of labware

- Enforcing strict health and safety regulations

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications

- A university/master degree in relevant subjects (biology, chemistry, chemical engineering etc.)

- Previous experience as a Lab Assistant is a merit

- Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining technical laboratory equipment

- The ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques

- Ability to use technical equipment with maximum accuracy and efficiency

- Outstanding attention to detail

- Strong time management skills

- Experience in maintaining gloveboxes is a merit

- Excellent command of English (both written and oral)

- Ability to work independently and in small teams

- Experience writing instruction manuals is a merit
