Are you ready to be part of the team that powers the brightest light source in the world? MAX IV's Electronics Team, within the Technical Division, is seeking passionate individuals to contribute to beamline development.

About Us: The Electronics Team is a diverse group of 12 professionals with varying backgrounds, dedicated to the electronics aspect of our cutting-edge facility. We work with a broad spectrum of electronics and associated technical aspects of it.

Opportunity: MAX IV currently operates 16 beamlines, and as attention shifts towards optimizing and expanding these beamlines, we are on the lookout for individuals interested in engaging with the challenges of advanced experiments. The role involves constant innovation, adding, rebuilding, and enhancing functionality to achieve extreme performance levels. If you have experience in this domain or are eager to dive in, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities: As a team member, you'll be involved in utilizing various tools and techniques, collaborating with diverse groups. While electronics (both commercial and developed) is the common thread, tasks encompass signal measurement and triggering, software development (especially in Python and C variants), detector knowledge, motion technology (stepper motors and nano positioning), building, commissioning, and supporting instruments, as well as scientific experience in experiments.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, you need:

  • A relevant university degree.
  • Experience in analog or digital electronics.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Merits: The following will be considered as additional merits:

  • Hardware and Electronics: Small signal measurement, motion technology, configuration and maintenance tool development, error probing, time-sensitive measurements.
  • Software: Tests, integration, and deployment of electronics in control systems, general Linux skills, Python.
  • Network and System Infrastructure: TCP/IP layers, fiber, OS configuration.
  • Previous experience working in a research-oriented facility (e.g., as a postdoc).

As a person, you are curious, eager to learn, and possess problem-solving skills. You can address various aspects of a problem, ensuring a holistic approach without compromising one aspect over another.
