The Department of Immunotechnology conducts research ranging from advanced technology development to biomedical studies. The main research areas include immuno-oncology, sensitization, and biomarkers. The modern facilities are located at Medicon Village, where academic research is carried out side by side with private companies and actors from the healthcare sector. A number of important infrastructures are available, including specialized laboratories for spatial omics, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, and antibody production, as well as NBIS (National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden). The department is also responsible for several student courses and offers high-quality education at both undergraduate and advanced levels. Approximately 35 people work within the department. You will be part of a research group in immuno-oncology that focuses on myeloid cells in the tumor microenvironment, development of new immunotherapeutic treatments, and tools for precision medicine.

The research focus of the position lies within the field of immuno-oncology, specifically in the development of therapeutic antibodies. The research group conducts experimental and translational research in close collaboration with specialists at Skåne University Hospital. The group works with, among other things, spatial omics, scRNAseq and spectral flow cytometry for detailed studies of immune cells in solid tumors. We are now seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in antibody technology. The goal is to develop new therapeutic antibodies that can enhance antigen uptake and T cell activation in tumors, and to assess their functional properties in patient-derived material.
The main duties involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. The purpose of the position is to develop the independence as a researcher and to create the opportunity of further development.
The postdoctoral position includes a combination of experimental work, data analysis, as well as interpretation and presentation of research results. The main part of the work for the advertised position involves the design of antibody formats, in vitro selection using phage display of human recombinant antibodies intended for therapy, and antibody characterization using various binding analyses, but the tasks may be broadened depending on the development of the project.

Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position. The certificate proving the qualification requirement is met, must be received before the employment decision is made. Priority will be given to candidates who have graduated no more than three years ago before the last day for application. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.
