Description of the workplace

The Department of Chemistry, Lund University, is located at Kemicentrum, which is Scandinavia's largest center for education and research in chemistry. It has about 300 emplyees and 500 enrolled students. 

Work duties

You will be performing biochemical experiments to determine affinities between synthetic ligands and medically relevant proteins in support of project courses and graduate student projects.

The duties includes:

  • educational tasks in course KASN40.
  • participation in graduate student research projects.
  • administration and documentation of research data.

Qualification requirements

Only those admitted to first or second-cycle courses and study programmes at the faculty may be employed as teaching assistants. The degree must not have been completed.

Required qualifications:

  • Admitted to (relevant) first or second-cycle courses in organic chemistry.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English. 
  • Independence and ability to collaborate.

Additional requirements:

  • Experience of synthesis and biochemical evaluation of glycomimetics targeting medically relevant proteins.

Further information

The position is a fixed term position at 10 % of full time and starting in October 2025 or by agreement, although not beyond June 2026. The employment as a Teaching Assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), 5 chapter 8-12 §§.
