Description of the work place
The research group for Regenerative Neurophysiology conducts neuroscience research with a focus on the brain, particularly on reprogramming technologies to generate new neurons. The research program was established in 2019 and is led by Assistant Professor Daniella Rylander Ottosson. The group consists of 8 researchers and collaborates closely within two strategic networks: MultiPark and the Lund Stem Cell Center.
Our laboratory is located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund. We are now seeking a motivated biomedical researcher to work with in vivo models. The position is a full‑time, two year appointment with a desired start date of 2026-04-01, or as agreed upon.
Project description
Project focus on developing future disease models of neurological disorders using stem cell and reprogramming technologies. This involves establishment of advanced human neural cultures, morphological and protein assessment and functional analysis. It will also involve patient-derived cells.
Tasks and responsibilities
At Lund University, a postdoctoral position shall provide the opportunity for scientific and pedagogical merit. There is primarily scope for merit in research, but also for some higher education pedagogical training. Teaching may also be included in the duties.
As a postdoc in the research group, you will be responsible for conducting in vitro studies focused on reprogramming glial cells into neurons. Your main tasks will include 2D and 3D neural culture work and potentially, tissue preparation, histological and molecular analyses, statistical methods, and data presentation, as well as some in vivo work in mouse models. Other duties within the research group may also be assigned as needed.
The position will require participation in conferences, including potential data presentations, as well as possible business trips and periods abroad. You will also take part in seminars and workshops.
