Other meriting capacities is independence, ability to take initiative, cooperative skills and perceverance.

Job assignments
The research will focus on methods for solving ill posed inverse problems, with special focus on coherent X-ray imaging methods in two and three dimensions. For example the phase retrieval problem (where the amplitude of the Fourier transform of an object is known, and the object should be reconstructed from this information and additional restrictions), algorithms for ptychography or methods for inverting the exponential Radon transform. The main research task is mathematical analysis of methods (and development of new methods), but consists also in efficient implementation and evaluation of the same. The implementation is targeted towards the new Max IV synchrotron facility. The position covers four years of postgraduate studies (research and course work) including up to 20 % teaching mathematics.

Eligibility
The basic requirements for admission to postgraduate studies are: a degree at advanced (MSc) level, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 credits, of which 60 must be at advanced (MSc) level, or the equivalent knowledge or qualifications obtained in some other way, in Sweden or in another country.

The special requirements for admission to postgraduate studies in mathematics are completed courses in mathematics equivalent to at least 120 credits, of which 50 must be at advanced (MSc) level. The courses at basic and advanced level should include a degree project corresponding to at least 30 credits. Special eligibility may be obtained through equivalent studies; this will be assessed in each case.
