Work duties
This is a part of the European Project “Improving Sustainability of Food processing using Moderate Electric Fields (MEF) for Process Intensification and Smart processing (MECPROC)”. The work involves testing different technologies to achieve efficient cryoprotection of leaves. The project assistant will work with the following unit operations: vacuum impregnation, pulsed electric fields (PEF), and moderate electric fields (MEF). The employment will also involve tasks in conductivity, fluorescence microscopy, and isothermal calorimetry.

Qualifications
  • The candidate should have a MSc degree in food science, food engineering or equivalent. The candidate can also present a certificate stating that the master degree will be granted no later than August 2018.
  • The candidate will have work experience of processing of fruit and vegetables, specifically, unit operations involved with freezing.
  • It is preferable that the candidate has previous experience with the application of pulsed electric fields and vacuum impregnation.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to i.e. good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

This is a temporary position during aprox. one year.
