The Humanities Lab provides different kinds of training such as workshops or group tutorials, but also longer PhD courses, in statistics or in the use of specific facilities. We now seek an educational coordinator responsible for coordinating and developing the Lab's training and educational elements.

Duties

The educational coordinator will support researchers, teachers and students seeking to use the Lab facilities in research and teaching. The work is very varied but primarily involves coordinating and developing educational activities, inward and outward communication about training, as well as teaching and counselling. The duties place great demands on pedagogical and communicative skills, responsiveness, and creativity. The duties include: 

- Leading the teacher team

- Coordinating the courses and workshops given in the Lab

- Developing new materials and new courses based on user needs including video-based tutorials

- Planning, organizing and conducting courses, workshops and individual tutorials on a given topic, method, or software

- Organizing and implementing lab demos for a varied audience (both researchers and students)

- Communicating about Lab training via the Lab website and newsletter

- Communicating with potential participants

The software that is the focus of the coordinator's own teaching mainly consists of general pieces of software used for the preparation, collection, and analysis of research data. The educational coordinator needs substantial technical skills to be able to train students in the use of already known software, but also to learn how to use new software on their own.

Qualifications

The applicant

- must hold a PhD in a relevant topic

- must have documented educational experience, skill, and education

- must have very high spoken and written proficiency in Swedish and English

- must be familiar with rules and regulations in the Swedish University system

- should have experience of pedagogical leadership

- should have a good knowledge of and experience with various types of research software (e.g. ePrime, CLAN and AntConc)

Flexibility and pedagogical skills are welcome since the work requires collaboration with users at different levels of knowledge. Since the applicant will work with research and research data it is important that it is a meticulous and conscientious person. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
