Job assignments
The research will focus on Harmonic Analysis and Operator Theory. The position is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation’s programme for the recruitment of international postdocs in Mathematics. The project will be concerned with the study of Calderon-Zygmund operators and commutators, with particular focus on the matrix-weighted case.

Qualifications
A PhD degree, awarded (or planned to be awarded before the commencement of the project) in mathematics is a requirement. You should have a strong background in harmonic analysis, operator theory, complex analysis and functional analysis, and preferably already have done research on the theory of weighted inequalities, matrix-weighted inequalities, or on commutators. You should have the ability to plan and carry out research of high quality and this should be reflected in your publications. You should also be motivated, have initiative, be able to work independently and in groups, and be perseverant. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is a requirement.

Eligibility
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than five years before the last date for applications. According to the aims of the Wallenberg mathematics programme, the position is mainly intended for applicants who have completed their PhD at a non-Swedish university. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.

Basis of Assessment

This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment will primarily be based on your research qualifications and potential as researchers. Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject. Here the quality of your publications plays a very big role, but the description of your previous research and future research plans is also important. At a possible interview, your ability to orally present your research will be tested. In addition, the assessment will be based on the qualifications mentioned above.

Type of employment

This is a full-time, fixed-term employment for 2 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow”) between Lund University, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 4 September 2008.
