The position will be based at the Department of Translational Medicine in Malmö. The position is combined with a post as specialist physician/consultant at Medical Services, Region Skåne.

Duties
The duties include research, third cycle education and teaching in the faculty’s first and second cycle programmes. Other duties normally associated with appointment as a professor include a certain degree of administration and internal and external elected office, nationally and internationally. The position may involve other duties.

The framework for the post as specialist physician/consultant includes independent duties in the relevant clinical laboratory medicine specialisation.

Qualifications
A person qualified for appointment as a professor is to have demonstrated both research and teaching expertise in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 4, section 3. To qualify for the position, applicants must have undergone at least five weeks’ training in teaching and learning in higher education, or acquired equivalent knowledge in some other way, unless exceptional circumstances apply.

The applicant is to possess specialist expertise in the relevant specialisation.

As the appointment is combined with a post as a trained specialist physician, there is a requirement that the applicant possesses the necessary language skills for the medical profession in Swedish (according to the National Board of Health and Welfare’s definition, which also permits corresponding language skills in Norwegian or Danish) on taking up the clinical post.

Assessment criteria
The applicant is to have demonstrated very considerable research and teaching expertise of value to the subject. In the assessment, particular emphasis will be placed on research expertise.

The applicant is to have demonstrated research expertise by maintaining a good standing as researcher, nationally and internationally. Furthermore, it is considered an additional qualification if the successful candidate has been the principal applicant for grants awarded in national or international competition. Experience of translational research applicable in healthcare is an additional qualification. The applicant is to have a broad focus within one or more of the following areas: haemostasis, coagulation or vascular biology.

The applicant is also to have demonstrated teaching expertise both in teaching and supervision, in first, second and third cycle education.

Documented leadership abilities will be taken into account, as will the ability to interact with wider society. Documented clinical independence and experience of leading clinical work will be considered an additional qualification.
