Background
The research group in crypto and security at the Department of Electrical and Information Technology is active in research and teaching on cryptographic algorithms and data security, both in theoretical aspects as well as practical applications. In addition to a solid national and international academic base, the group has extensive industrial cooperation. The teaching includes crypto technology, computer security and web security, both at the basic and advanced levels.

Subject description
The subject of the advertised position is communication security and applied cryptography. The research will focus on how information can be communicated using protocols based on cryptographic algorithms and methods. This includes basic cryptographic properties, modelling of communication, design and analysis of protocols, and implementation aspects, with focus on authentication, confidentiality, integrity and availability. Examples of applications are the increasing digitalisation, the connected society and the increasing use of personal data that must be stored, processed and communicated. This is particularly interesting in modern systems and applications where there are a large number of users and privacy enhancing technologies are of great importance.
Work duties
Employment as an associate senior lecturer is a career development position and aims for the holder to develop his or her independence as a researcher and educator. The work duties mainly involve research and teaching. The position shall include the opportunity for five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of 4 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with Chapter 4 Section 12a§ HEA.
