Department of Immunotechnology recruits a research coordinator for the EU-MSCA-COFUND program CanFaster

The CanFaster program is administered by the Department of Immunotechnology within the framework of the strategic research center CREATE Health, which has its premises at Medicon Village, a dynamic research park where companies, academia and healthcare are co-located. The goal of the CanFaster program is to train tomorrow's cancer researchers broadly also in areas outside of cancer biology such as patent strategies, business knowledge and / or clinical oncology to enable more researchers to become entrepreneurs in the field. The program has 16 PhD students in progress and will recruit 15 postdoctoral students during 2020-2021. The program is now seeking a research coordinator for the operational management.

Tasks / Project description
We are seeking a Research Coordinator for the Department of Immunology (www.immun.lth.se). The tasks are mainly linked to the CanFaster program (www.canfaster.se), which is an EU project within the framework of Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions and is administered within the framework of CREATE Health (www.createhealth.lth.se). The position includes coordinating work with doctoral and postodoctoral students within the CanFaster program within cancer and entrepreneurship. The program is carried out in collaboration with healthcare and industry. The tasks involve coordination of activities, recruitment and contact with external experts and reviewers, formal reporting to EU, arranging meetings / seminars and administration within the program. The coordinator is also responsible for the contact with business partners. The employment also includes administrative and communication-oriented work outside the CanFaster program, such as websites linked to the Department of Immunology and its infrastructures and / or individual research groups.

Qualifications
We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible individual with the ability to practically run projects independently and take your independent initiative. Good collaboration skills and a flexible mindset is a must. Your work includes a lot of collaboration with other researchers internally and externally, as well as companies and health care sector. You have a PhD in Life Science followed by at least two years of work experience. You have previous experience of coordinating research projects in Life Science at both national and international levels. We attach great importance to your personal qualities such as cooperative ability, organizational and social skills. The workload will vary over time, with periods with a higher workload. The service is 100% but we also encourage individuals who are looking for a part-time job of 75-90% to apply for the service. Employment is time limited 18 months with possibility of extension.

Requirement
Doctoral degree in Life Science with a focus on cancer and similar
At least two years of experience after a PhD exam
Very good knowledge of English in writing and speech
Documented experience in coordinating EU projects, or other projects spanning multiple institutions, faculties, universities and / or sectors
Documented experience in effectively managing many parallel work tasks
Documented experience working with websites
Documented experience of organizing meetings
Personal characteristics of cooperative, organizational and social skills

Other qualifications:
Documented experience of writing, applying and obtaining research grants.
Documented experience in assessing applications
Documented experience in recruitment processes
Documented experience of working with customer contact within core facilities
Good qualities in Swedish in writing and speech is considered a strength but not a demand.
