Appointment
Appointment until further notice as a senior lecturer in stem cell biology, based at the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Duties
The Department of Laboratory Medicine has a strong research environment for stem cell biology focused on stem cell regulation, the development of stem cells into mature cells and clinical applications for stem cells in cell and gene therapy. To further strengthen and develop this research environment, we intend to appoint a senior lecturer in stem cell biology who can conduct cutting-edge research in the field and act as an expert knowledge resource for the department. The principal duty of the position is research and the successful candidate will be expected to conduct their own qualified research within the field, as well as to actively seek external and internal research grants. The position also includes teaching at first, second and third cycle, supervision at third cycle and postdoctoral level, administrative tasks, internal and external elected office and collaboration with society at large.
If the successful candidate lacks five weeks’ training in teaching and learning in higher education at thetime of appointment, their work duties will include completing this training within the first two years ofemployment. Other duties may also arise as part of the position.

Qualifications
According to chapter 4, section 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance a person qualified for appointmentas a senior lecturer is to have demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a PhD or acquired the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of thesubject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve.According to Lund University’s Appointment Rules, the applicant must have completed at least fiveweeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education or acquired the corresponding knowledgein some other way in order to be qualified.

Assessment criteria
The applicant shall have demonstrated scientific and teaching expertise of relevance to the subject. In assessing qualifications, particular importance will be attached to scientific expertise. The applicant shall have demonstrated a high level of research expertise of value to the subject area. The applicant shall have demonstrated scientific ability by maintaining a high national and international standard as a researcher built on a solid foundation of scientific competence. Particular weight will be given to publications at the highest international level of which the applicant is the first author, as well as other qualifications in the form of, for example, grants awarded in international competition. Particular consideration will be given to the applicant’s potential for scientific development. The applicant must have demonstrated a high level of teaching competence of value to the subject area. Significance will also be attached to first and second-cycle teaching expertise and to the ability to supervise doctoral students. Documented administrative skills will also be taken into account. Consideration will also be given to demonstrated academic leadership ability, collaborative ability and a dependable ability to interact with society at large.
