The successful applicant will be part of the English division within Section 4 of the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) at Lund University. This unit consists of around 20 active researchers, teaching staff and doctoral students in English literature and English Language and linguistics, with various specialisations (www.sol.lu.se/en/subjects/engelska/research/). In recent years, secondary school teacher training, academic writing and English for specific purposes have also become important elements of our activity, which means that we offer courses for many different categories of students and staff.
The successful applicant will primarily be expected to develop and teach various English courses and components in the secondary school teacher training programme, such as our subject didactics courses, but also for example degree project courses and other courses and components directly focused on the profession of a secondary school teacher, including teaching placement. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach courses in linguistics and language proficiency included in the freestanding courses and programme courses beyond the teacher training programme. Courses and components intended for people studying subjects other than English may also be part of the work duties of the position. Teaching constitutes a maximum of 70% of a full-time position for a senior lecturer at Lund University.
With regard to research, the successful applicant will be expected to have relevant qualifications in English specialising in didactics and/or language acquisition and primarily to contribute to our research in these areas. In addition to this, other relevant theoretical and methodological expertise is welcomed. A senior lecturer at Lund University has at least 20% of their employment set aside for research. The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate on research, for example with colleagues in the division, the department (Centre for Languages and Literature) and the Department of Educational Sciences. The successful applicant will also be expected to take an active part in relevant seminars on English linguistics, language acquisition (LAMINATE), education, etc.
At the English division, we expect a strong presence in the workplace. The successful applicant will be expected to take part in meetings at the division and the department and to take an active part in the work on the development and quality assurance of the subject, both in the teacher training programme and in other areas of our activity.

Documented, excellent command of English is required for this position. Within two years of employment, the successful applicant will be expected to be able to read texts in Swedish, to take part in meetings in Swedish and, in exceptional cases, to use texts written in Swedish in his/her teaching.
General assessment criteria: the degree of research, teaching, administrative and other expertise that is of value in view of the work duties and subject matter of the post as well as other personal skills of relevance to perform the duties well.
