About Marketing at the Department of Business Administration
The Department of Business Administration is the largest department at Lund University School of Economics and Management with about 180 employees and 4,000 students at undergraduate and graduate level.
We conduct extensive research and postgraduate education and have about 40 doctoral students. The department has the following research areas: accounting, corporate finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, organisation and leadership, research policy, and strategy.
Marketing can be defined as an activity, entity or process that creates, communicates, and delivers offerings and value to customers, clients, partners, other stakeholders and society as a whole. The department’s research as well as teaching in marketing links to all aspects of marketing but with a focus on brands, consumption, retailing and internationalisation.
The strength of the marketing group lies in the ability to address the above areas from multiple perspectives. We focus equally on research and teaching, cultural and managerial perspectives, consumer and professional markets, qualitative and quantitative methods, and academic and practical interests. Within these perspectives, we are currently focusing heavily on sustainability and digitalisation issues.
