Description of the workplace
The research group Food Hygiene at the Department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition develops methods for identification of bacteria and clarifies the role of these bacteria in food and human health. The research performed in the group has been pioneering in the development of probiotics and the group has a close collaboration within both medical care, industry, and academia.
Work duties
The work duties include standardized and upscaled culturing of probiotic bacteria and optimization of formulation for survival in packaging materials and performance of durability tests of the materials, as well as cultivation experiments and microbiological analysis of plant material. The work duties also include participation in teaching, supervision of degree projects and collaboration with industry and wider society.

Appointment to a position as a researcher requires that the applicant has a PhD.
