Film Studies is placed in Section 2 at the Centre for Languages and Literature, and is co-organized with Literary Studies, Dramaturgy and Creative Writing. Film studies also collaborates with the subject of Media History at the Department of Communication and Media, and the two subjects jointly run a seminar series and an international Master's Programme. Within the subject, a Swedish-language basic education is provided up to and including Bachelor's level, independent courses in both Swedish and English, as well as the international master's program Film and Media History. For a few years now, the subject has been collaborating with the section Film Studies and Creative Media Industries at the University of Copenhagen. The aim is to jointly create a research environment, concentrated on the study of mainly contemporary Scandinavian film culture in the broadest sense (history, production, reception, distribution, aesthetics and more). The goal is to initiate a larger joint research project with external funding and to create a South Scandinavian research node for film.
Your main task is to carry out the research plan, presented in the application, focused on some sector of Scandinavian film culture in the broadest sense. The research is carried out in dialogue with other researchers and doctoral students at the department in Lund, as well as to a certain extent with our Danish colleagues. You are expected to present your own research within the framework of our seminar series, but also to be a conversation partner and support for your colleagues' research, not least that of doctoral students. Of particular importance is to contribute your expertise in collaboration with our Danish colleagues around a joint research node. The working hours are flexible, but it is a requirement that you can constantly be in the physical environment in Lund and participate in the daily work.
Teaching, supervision and other administrative duties comprise a maximum of 20 % of the position.
