Agenda 2030
The position is a part of the Lund University-wide Interdisciplinary program focusing on Agenda 2030 and sustainable development. Within LU4Water, six postdoctoral fellowships at six faculties (Law, Social Science, Humanities, Science, Economics and Engineering) will collaborate on developing a new framework for implementing Integrated Water Resources Management.
The 2030 Agenda is the framework for sustainable development signed by the world's countries to end extreme poverty, reduce inequalities, solve the climate crisis, promote peace and justice and much more. To achieve the agenda's sustainability goals, research has several important roles: identifying challenges and goal conflicts, contributing new solutions, creating dialogue, and learning between different social actors and critically analyzing the goals included in Agenda 2030.
Lund University wants to be part of the solution and has therefore started a research program for sustainable development with postdoctoral positions in various interdisciplinary projects. The projects should not only form platforms for the postdocs' career development but should also form a basis for national and European applications and for future environments for excellence and profiling. Within the program, the postdocs' higher education teaching skills must also be developed.
The department of Economics employ around 100 researchers, teachers, doctoral candidates, and administrative personnel. Job description
The Department of Economics at Lund University seeks one Postdoctoral Fellow in Economics. The holders will conduct independent research in economics with focus on natural resource and environmental economics and integrated water resources management, and is expected to cooperate with other researchers at the Department and LU4Water, be willing to interact with students, and to actively participate in the common activities of the Department. The position involves even 20 percent teaching (the equivalent of about one course a year and some supervision of Bachelor and Master theses).
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral fellow, the applicant must have a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree, in economics completed at the latest at the time of the employment decision.
Mainly those who have completed their doctorate no more than three years ago will be considered.
If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been completed earlier. With special reasons is meant leave due to illness, parental leave, positions of trust within trade unions, service in the total defense, or other similar circumstances.
Qualifications and basis of assessment Qualifications
The main requirement is scholarly proficiency. Applicants must show a high degree of research expertise as manifested in the quality of their PhD dissertation and other publications. Good knowledge and research experience in resource and environmental economics is qualifying. Experience in experimental economics is also seen as qualifying.
Since the research environment at the Department of Economics is highly international and since the position includes teaching in English, a good command of the English language is required.
A PhD from an establishment outside of Lund University School of Economics and Management is particularly meritorious.

We imagine that the successful candidate has an inner drive and is devoted and motivated to work within environmental water research.
Evaluation of the applicants will take their experience, knowledge, and personal qualities like cooperativeness into consideration. The applicants' ability to use their scholarly skills and experience to strengthen and supplement existing research activities within the School of Economics and Management will also be considered.
Terms of employment
A postdoctoral position is a position that shall provide opportunities for teaching and research qualifications. The position shall first and foremost provide scope for developing research qualifications. The scope of the position shall also provide an opportunity for training in teaching and learning in higher education corresponding to at least three weeks.
This is a full-time, temporary position for three years. It is regulated in the collective agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor”
