Description of the workplace 
The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Glycobiology (MIG) is looking for an experienced researcher with a focus on cancer biology and infection biology, in ongoing research projects led by Professor Catharina Svanborg. The group conducts research in cancer and infection biology and develops new discoveries from molecular mechanisms and animal models to clinical trials. Work duties and areas of responsibility 

You will be expected to develop specific ongoing projects and perhaps make new discoveries. The work includes writing grant applications and supervising younger group members and students. You will work in a team and collaborate on all our ongoing projects. Other commonly occurring tasks in the laboratory occur.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Doctoral degree in the field of microbiology, immunology or other relevant field
  • A competitive list of publications in leading international journals
  • Experience in bioinformatics, genomics and transcriptomics
  • Previous supervision of students and group members
  • Good language skills and the habit of writing and presenting science in English

A merit for the position is:

  • Prior research experience and previous knowledge in biomedicine

Further information
The employment is a permanent full time employment with the desired starting date November 1st 2023 or according to agreement. Probationary employment of 6 months may be applied.
