Description of the workplace

The research group Epigenetics and Chromatin Dynamics at the Department of Experimental Medical Science within the Faculty of Medicine is currently conducting research on epigenetic mechanisms in brain development and degeneration. The research group is currently working on a project funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which aims to reveal general principles of how the epigenetic regulation of the repetitive genome affects human brain development and degeneration. You can read more about the group's research on our website here . The research group is led by Dr. Christopher Douse and includes an additional 6 employees. The group is international and includes employees in research, administration and technology. We are now looking for a driven and experienced lab manager to support the project and the lab as a whole. Work duties and areas of responsibility

You will be responsible for taking care of the lab, for example through: ordering, inventory, introduction of new members, organization, safety. You will also support the lab via molecular cloning and production of viral vectors, and some cell culture tasks. Other administrative tasks may be required.

Qualifications

Requirements for employment are:

- outstanding organizational and communication skills

- significant expertise and experience in viral vector production

- experience in molecular cloning

- experience with neural and/or stem cell culture

- excellent spoken Swedish and English with the ability to communicate in written Swedish for (e.g.) administrative purposes

- experience with nucleic acid and protein extractions and separations, Western blotting, qPCR methods

Additional qualifications for the position are:

-experience with high-throughput sequencing methods (e.g. Illumina library preparations)

-experience with functional genomics methods (e.g. ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, RNA-seq, Nanopore-seq)

-experience of training and interaction with students from all educational cycles

Employment is for an indefinite term with a scope of 100 per cent of full time starting in 1th of June 2024 or by agreement. Probationary employment will be applied for 6 months.
