About the workplace

At Kansli S at the Faculty of Social Sciences, we are 50 employees, and we are located in premises at Gamla Kirurgen in the Campus Paradis area in the centre of Lund. We work with qualified support for the faculty management and the faculty's departments in education, management support, research, HR, finance and communication. Our work is characterised by independence, high commitment and responsibility with a great deal of trust from management. We like to challenge ourselves and think in new ways and have a continuous development work.

Work duties and areas of responsibility

Main duties:

  • Staffing of the student reception
  • Answering general student-related questions, both at the reception and by email
  • Managing Graduate School's shared mailbox
  • Handling emails for the Faculty International Office
  • Issuing and managing certificates for students
  • Creating and publishing content in Graduate School's social media channels
  • Temporary support and help at student events
  • If necessary, helping with other administrative tasks

Additional duties may be added and your duties may vary during the year, depending on current needs. During the summer, the work mainly consists of monitoring and answering incoming mail. The reception is open three hours, four times a week. You are two receptionists who divide the work shifts between you.

Eligible for employment

As a teaching assistant you are required to be accepted into education on an undergraduate or advanced level at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University.

Qualifications

Requirements for employment are:

  • You are admitted to, and in your second year of one of the Graduate School programmes: Master Programme in Politics and Society of the Contemporary Middle East, Master of Science in Development Studies, Master of Science in Global Studies, Master of Science in Social Scientific Data Analysis, Master of Science in Social Studies of Gender
  • You are on track with your studies

We are looking for someone who is communicative, structured and service-oriented and can work independently and take your own initiative.

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Experience of working at Lund University or another university/college
  • Experience of working in the service sector

Further information

We are looking for two student receptionists for temporary employments, 15 % for a maximum of 12 months starting according to agreement. Applicants need to be admitted to education at Graduate School during the entire employment period.
