The Department of Design Sciences is Hiring Senior Lecturer in Work Organization, Leadership, and Risk Management

The Division of Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology (EAT) (https://www.eat.lth.se) is part of the Department of Design Sciences at Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and is located at the Ingvar Kamprad Design Centre (IKDC). We are part of Lund University.

The position is placed within the Ergonomics Group at the Division of Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology , part of the Department of Design Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University. The Ergonomics Group comprises just over 20 members. The group conducts research in ergonomics and human factors in a broad sense. The research focuses on acquiring new knowledge about the interaction between people, technology, and organizations; the relationships between the work environment and human health, safety, well-being, job satisfaction, motivation, and performance; as well as the connection between the design of the human-technology-organization system and quality of life, efficiency, and risk. Particular emphasis is placed on developing knowledge that supports the simultaneous achievement of work-life quality and efficiency in the workplace, when developing new technologies and work organization and leadership.

We are a team of around 50 colleagues focused on the interaction between people and technology, and on how knowledge of this interaction can inform the design of technology, technical systems, and organizations. This knowledge is applied in the design of products and environments that people interact with—whether in the workplace, at home, or in other settings.

We provide a wide range of appreciated undergraduate education (given in Swedish) across several engineering programs, such as Master of Science in Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Data and Communication Technology, and Risk, Safety and Crisis Management. We contribute specifically with expertise in the interaction between people, technology, organizations, and risk management. You will have the opportunity to develop these courses together with our large team of senior lecturers and doctoral students.

We also have several exciting research projects that need additional staff. Examples include: “Inclusive Crisis Preparedness in a Changing World: Increased Safety and Quality of Life”, funded by the Kamprad Foundation, which involves interviewing and conducting workshops with elderly people living at home with support to explore how their crisis preparedness can be strengthened,; and “Occupational Safety with Robots at Construction Sites”, funded by FORTE, which involves surveys, interviews, and practical observations
